The Queen of the Man's World
We - my comrade and I - believe that we have to hold a record for how many times we changed our project. Bella and I went on a journey thinking that we were going to lead into Earhart's conspiracies regarding her disappearance, but little did we know how big of a deal she was beyond just her legacy with conspiracies. As we dug deeper, we saw her character shine through with her being a woman of her time and a woman of today. We eventually reached the consensus of what we wanted to do to honor Amelia's legacy - use her views on women's rights in her decision to vote, let everyone be able to have a little bit of her and see how she fetches up to other women of today in her similar position of power. We decided these on the fact of who she was and what she was able to do before the age of 40, something men were still struggling to accomplish. Bella and I wanted to do this due to how interesting it was for a woman of her age to still stand up after years of fighting and we have been taking away what it means to be in power, what we can do before 40, and what we should do with the power of knowledge as Amelia Earhart did before us.

After a long FaceTime call about our English project on how to apply The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown to Amelia Earhart, we came to a realization how there are two independent strong women that stand for more than what meets the eye, especially in the fictional setting.
Successor and a Fictional PredecessorFor our English portion, we both read the wonderful novel, The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and during this time we were also researching and gathering information about Amelia Earhart. Now, originally we were just going to read for the symbology and the demonstration of it, but little did we know of Sophie Neveu, the brilliant and independent master cryptographer. Through the entire novel, anyone can see how unique Neveu is compared to anyone else and how her clever leads to the Holy Grail. Then, the lightbulb went off for us! This book was more than a good novel, but a demonstration of what a woman can do which is eerily similar to the tale of Amelia Earhart's life. We used reasoning in showing how the two different women were cut from the same cloth and have been through the same things from rough childhoods, misogony in their work, and out of all that, created a legacy for themselves. Click the button below if you want to look at the reasoning first hand.

Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be a challenge to others.
